Universal Reference RNAs (Human, Mouse, Rat)

Our Universal Reference RNA is a standard for accurate and reproducible comparisons of gene expression data within laboratories and across microarray platforms (see Figure). The human Universal Reference RNA is used in the Microarray Quality Control project led by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Universal Reference RNA is a reliable standard and is manufactured in industrial-scale lot sizes so that lot-to-lot consistency is guaranteed. This ensures that our reference material can be used in multiple experiments carried out over long periods of time. Human, mouse, and rat Universal Reference RNAs are comprised of high-quality pooled total RNA from multiple cell lines providing broad gene coverage. See the tables below for a list of the cell lines used to make each of our Universal Reference RNAs.
