此產品可在60 分鐘內萃取動物細胞或組織的 total core histone， 萃取的histone 可再接著做各種後轉譯修飾的研究，配合Epigentek 的histone modification assay kit 等試劑， 適合用於histone acetylation、methylation、phosphorylation 和sumoylation 的研究應用。實驗只需要少量檢體即可進行，只需105 細胞數或1 mg 的組織，而在107 細胞數或100 mg 的組織中大約可萃取出400 μg 的total histone protein。
